About Me

My name is Corey Tucker, and I’m the creator of Plant Fueled Tucker!

I’m an Aussie who just loves to cook tasty vegan food. Cooking for me is a relaxing way to unwind from a busy day and allows me the space to be creative and inventive. But the most important thing is that I can share it with others. I love cooking for others and teaching them to cook, and I thought the next step for my cooking journey was to go live and share my creativity with the world.

I’ve been vegan for three years now. I’ve always had an interest in health, fitness and taking care of my body, but that vision was very different from what it is now. I was eating everything you were supposed to eat, but I just kept getting sick with flu’s or infections. I was working out several times a week, but I was always tired and out of breath. I was a ‘healthy’ 22-year-old that couldn’t go a few weeks without a cold, and it hit me that no healthy person gets sick this much.

It all started with a few tried and true vegan documentaries, and it snowballed from there. At first, I was just Plant-Based, but after a year, I finally made the animal connection and stopped being plant-based with the occasional slip and a committed vegan.

I’m making this blog because the main question I had to figure out when I first went vegan was ‘what can I eat?’. I had been eating animal products for over two decades, and I didn’t believe there was any other way to eat. It wasn’t until I stumbled across some inspiring vegan chefs on YouTube that I realised that food could be more than the protein and calories my body needed. I want to be what I first needed when I went vegan, someone to show me the way.

Good food is an essential part of life, and I want to be a part of its creation.

These are the documentaries that opened the door to veganism for me (in the order I saw them):

Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead (Part 1 and 2), Forks Over Knives, Cowspiracy, Earthlings, What the Health, The Game Changers.
